NISSAN TOP SHOT WINNER ANNOUNCED
BRISBANE, Australia (19 June 2017) – Nissan, major partner of Australia’s netball league, Suncorp Super Netball and Australia’s national netball team, the Diamonds, has surprised the winner of the Nissan Top Shot competition with not only the $50,000 grand prize but a brand-new Nissan X-TRAIL Ti, presented at the series’ exciting Grand Final match between the Sunshine Coast Lightning and the GIANTS Netball team in Brisbane on Saturday.
Launched in March this year, the 12-week Nissan Top Shot competition for netball enthusiasts gave entrants the opportunity to win a cash prize of $25,000 as well as a further $25,000 cash prize for their netball club or association by simply sharing their best netball plays via Instagram or Twitter using #nissantopshot. Each week’s winner was judged and the best entry, by Allison Peacock, took the full $50,000 prize – as well as the surprise gift of a Nissan X-TRAIL Ti.
Across Australia, 451 netball video entries were submitted during the 12 weeks and it was Alison Peacock’s skillful summersault goal that impressed the judges, who declared her the winner of the Nissan Top Shot competition. Half of Allison’s $50,000 prize will go directly to her nominated club, the Caloundra District Netball Association (CDNA) on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast. An unexpected but welcome surprise on the night was the announcement that she and her family had also won a brand-new Nissan X-TRAIL Ti.

For Allison, the choice to support her local netball club was an easy one. “CDNA is a special association that supports all of the local girls who play in the region,” she said. “Caloundra teams always have a great spirit at our netball carnivals and I’m thrilled to win this generous competition. Thank you Nissan!”
Coached by her mum, Alison has played netball since her first year in school and explained the driving force behind her passion for the game.
“Mum has taught me to never give up. And you are never too short to intercept or shoot a goal, she said.
