News Nissan X-Trail named Best Medium-Sized SUV in RAC Best Drives 2023

February 5, 2024: The Nissan X-Trail has welcomed another important accolade, with the new model named the Best Medium-Sized SUV in the RAC’s Best Drives 2023.

It joins a growing list of awards for the Nissan X-Trail, which, since arriving as an all-new model, has been named Australia's Best Medium SUV at the Drive Car of The Year Awards, been recognised by the Women’s World Car of The Year 2023 judges, and received a 2023 Good Design Award, among a host of other local and international honours.

The Royal Automobile Club of Western Australia’s Best Drives judging recognises the best of the approximately 60 vehicles they road tested over 2023, with judges focusing on value, safety, design and function, fit for purpose, fuel economy within class, and ride and handling.

“The all-new X-Trail has been designed from the outset with modern families in mind, and we are incredibly proud that the hard work of our design team has been recognised with another important accolade,” says Nissan Australia Managing Director, Adam Paterson.

“Style, safety, technology and value are all key pillars of the Nissan X-Trail story, and so it’s particularly rewarding to see those attributes recognised by the RAC.”

The motoring group highlighted the range-opening Nissan X-Trail ST for its winning combination of quality and value compared to its competition.

“The new Nissan X-Trail brought an all-new body design, plus an interior that refreshingly had retained physical buttons for the main controls rather than embedding them in the screen,” says Alex Forrest, the RAC’s Manager of Vehicles & Fuels.

“It has no shortage of rivals, but the entry-level X-Trail is a wiser choice over the cheaper, bargain-basement alternatives.”
